Peru’s water and sanitation regulator, Sunass, fined Seda Huánuco, the company that provides water and sewerage services in Huánuco, 31.10 UIT, or about S/171,050. The sanction is set out in Resolución N.° 210-2026-SUNASS-DS, signed on 30 July 2026, as reported by the newspaper Ahora on 22 September 2026.

The fine is for missing its management targets in the regulatory period from May 2024 to April 2025. According to the newspaper:

  • on its investment program it reached an index of 49%;
  • on its commitments to protect water sources (ecosystem services) the index was 4%;
  • on its reserve for disaster-risk management it reached 26.19% compliance.

Overall, the company scored 67.6% compliance, while the minimum acceptable level is 85%.

Sunass’s official 2026 register of sanctions lists Resolución N.° 210-2026-SUNASS-DS, issued on 30 July and served on 31 July 2026, as “consentida”, meaning it is final: the company did not challenge it within the deadline. According to the register, the sanction was a written warning plus the 31.10 UIT fine.

This sanction concerns the company’s management targets, not a complaint from a particular customer. If you have a problem with your water bill, a cut in service or the quality of the service, the complaint starts with the utility itself. See how to complain about electricity or water service.
