Indecopi upheld, on second and final administrative instance, a fine of 13.78 UIT (S/75,790) against the bus company Móvil Bus S.A.C. Resolución 2658-2026/SPC-Indecopi covers two separate breaches of the Consumer Protection and Defense Code, each fined 6.89 UIT: not visibly displaying the price list for tickets and parcel services, and issuing tickets with printed text below the minimum size of 3 millimeters that the rules require.
The case began with an inspection in March 2024 at the company’s office in Chachapoyas, Amazonas. Inspectors found that passengers could not see the fares before paying, and that the tickets handed out had text too small to read easily. The duty to display prices visibly and before the purchase is not limited to transport: it applies to almost any business that sells you a product or service, as we explain in our guide to mandatory price display.
Under the resolution, Indecopi ordered Móvil Bus to put up a visible sign with its fares and to correct the print format of its tickets so that the type meets the legal size.
This is a final decision within Indecopi’s administrative process; the company can still challenge it before the courts.
